All about accommodations

Thank you for taking the first step on your journey to be with us in Mendocino in May 2026! We’ve curated recommended accommodation options in Mendocino for our guests. Mendo is a village with relatively few in-town or near-town options, so we suggest making a plan early. Uber/taxis are also hard to come by out on the coast, so we suggest staying somewhere walkable or with the larger group to facilitate late night carpooling. We have room blocks for our guests at The Mendocino Grove and Alegria. Read on for additional options and considerations for families with kids 🤍

Nearby Glamping: The Mendocino Grove

A coastal forest glamping resort <1 mi from our wedding venues; we are really excited about this option. Tim has been a guest of The Mendocino Grove and describes it as “a boutique hotel room that happens to be in the forest”.

The Grove details: We blocked tents at The Grove for our wedding weekend and about 20 people have booked to stay there. Unfortunately, the tent block link has expired, but you can call The Grove directly to possibly get added to the “Opsahl Spring Glamping” group if they can swing it. You can call (707) 880-7710 or email maya@mendocinocove.com

Rates start at $239/night and include a light breakfast, hot showers (shared bathrooms), sauna, and heated beds (though tents aren’t otherwise heated). Standard and Vista Tents can be set up with 2 twins or a Queen bed. We hope that by choosing The Grove, you’ll get more quality time with friends and have easier logistics for carpooling and sharing accommodations. The Grove is not really walkable to the village, but its just a quick car trip or <1 mi bike ride to town.

Another Great Choice in Town: Alegria

We have blocked 4 rooms at Alegria, a cozy Mendocino bed and breakfast within walking distance of all wedding day locations. We’ve also blocked the Village Farm Retreat, a property run by Alegria that could be a good choice for a family. Rooms are blocked until April 15.

Other Ideas in Mendocino

🏘️ The “Inns of Mendocino” — 3 properties managed together: Blue Door Inn, Packard House, JD House, all bookable here. A bit more fresh and modern than your typical Mendo BnB, with a higher price point to match.

🖇️ Airbnb - There are a handful of Airbnb’s in town ranging from small studios to shareable houses — we suggest picking one in walking distance of our wedding activities. You can use 961 Ukiah St., Mendocino as a reference point for your research (one of our three event locations).

For Families with Kids

We are so glad you’re bringing the fam. Here are a few considerations and options for you. Our wedding festivities will all take place in a few-block radius of the Mendocino village. You can use 961 Ukiah St., Mendocino as a reference point for your research — this is one of the three locations we will be on wedding day, the other two are in walking distance of this point. We hope that staying close to the festivities will make it easier for you to balance kid care and partying.

  • Alegria - Infants/Kids are allowed in all of our block rooms except Sea Breeze.
  • Glamping - Children are welcomed at The Grove. This option could be fun if your kiddos are good sleepers while camping. You will not be able to walk to and from this property for wedding day festivities, making the juggling of kid care and partying a little more tricky than staying in town.
  • Inns of Mendocino (Packard, JD, Blue Door) - Children are also welcome here. Staff highlighted the Grand King and King Cottage as good options for families at the Packard House as well as the two Queen Suites + View rooms at the JD House.
